Tools Required:

1. Remove existing baseboards or wall molding.
2. Number the back of the baseboard and the wall it came from with a pencil.
3. Remove doors and closets as required.
4. If your floor squeaks countersink screws in floor base.
5. Sweep floor and ensure floor is flat and consistent.
6. Find the primary light source in room. The seams of your new laminate flooring should be installed parallel to the primary light source.
7. Lay down cork or foam underlayment cutting out any floor vents as required. Tape seams with duct tape.
8. Begin laying flooring on the most prominent wall in the room so the "cuts" will be on the less prominent side.
9. Starting in a corner lay the laminate flooring leaving a 1/4" expansion gap with the grooved side facing wall. Use 1/4" spacers to hold in place.
10. Lay flooring all the way across the room.
11. Begin the next row on the "cut" side of the previous row to prevent the seams from being identical on each row. Install each row by tilting at an angle and sliding into groove. Slight tapping may be required to seat in groove.
12. Cut flooring to fit around vents as needed. (Cut with good side "down") Most vents are 4"x10" or 4"x12". Make sure vent cover will fit in opening before afixing flooring.
13. Replace baseboards and doors as needed.
